Christopher Johns Memorial Sober Softball Tournament
This is a sober event honoring those we’ve lost to addiction while also showing that recovery is possible. There are usually 8 teams playing, each team honoring one person we have lost to overdose. After the tournament, we hold a candlelight vigil.
We expect to have the date for the 2026 Sober Softball Tournament determined by January.

The day was hot but the people played with all their heart. Then the rain came in the early evening and we had to end the games. Team Billy Cahill won the tournament - Congratulations. Since we were unable to hold the candlelight vigil, we will be holding one at a later event.
Thank you to the Groton Little League and the US Navy volunteers who operated the concession stand. They supplied delicious food all day for a very reasonable price!
